International Women's Day

At AUW Laboratory School, International Women’s Day was not only a celebration, but also a moment to pause and reflect on the realities women face across the world. 🌍🌸
Globally, the path toward equality remains challenging. According to UN Women, nearly 1 in 3 women worldwide (about 30%) experience physical or sexual violence during their lifetime. The World Economic Forum also highlights that no country has yet achieved full gender equality, and at the current pace it could take more than a century to close the global gender gap. πŸ“Šβš–οΈ
In Bangladesh, these global challenges often appear in everyday life. Many girls still face the pressure of early marriage, social expectations, and limited opportunities. At times, news and public discussions remind us that women’s safety, dignity, and freedom are still fragile, making the journey toward independence far more difficult than it should be. πŸ•ŠοΈ
Yet there is a powerful force that continues to transform this story - education. πŸ“šβœ¨
Education gives girls the confidence to speak, the knowledge to question injustice, and the strength to build a future on their own terms. A girl who studies today becomes a woman who leads tomorrow breaking barriers, challenging stereotypes, and creating change for the next generation. πŸ’ͺ🌟
During our Women’s Day reflection at AUW Laboratory School, students discussed how learning can become a tool for empowerment and independence. Every classroom, every lesson, and every curious question brings us one step closer to a world where women can live with dignity, opportunity, and equality. 🌏🌺
